Bride

It was just two months ago (May), during dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, that he asked me to marry him. It wasn't just any day either, it was the marking of an exact year that we had made things official. Talk about DESSERT. We had just finished our dinner and Andrew asked me if I wanted some dessert. I weirdly declined, and went to the bathroom while I figured the waiter went to grab the check. I walk by a crowd full of people, not realizing I was the only person in the whole restaurant that had no clue I was about to get proposed to. I finally get back, sit down, and begin to finish the conversation Andrew and I had been having… and it happened... Andrew stopped me mid sentence and told me to turn around. Confused, I turned around in my chair to find multiple people holding up signs that read “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” and cameras flashing galore. It took me a minute to realize that there was no one else in the room except for me and Andrew. In front of the entire restaurant and friends (that I had no idea was there), Andrew got down on one knee and melted my heart. Did I dream of this day? I did, but the dream couldn't touch this reality, it was almost surreal. The applause, the friends, the night, everything made this moment perfect, better than any dream I could have dreamed.

What I found out later warmed my heart even more. Andrew wanted to wait until he could see my dad in person again to ask for permission to marry me, that's why it happened on his way back from training in New York. He made a pit stop in New Orleans to spend the day with my family. My father loves Andrew, and my parents are so excited for us. Seeing the respect from Andrew to my father and knowing how much my family loves him, I feel so blessed.

Is he the one? Absolutely. Does he make me happier than I ever imagined I could be? Absolutely. Am I excited to start this new chapter of marriage in my life? ABSO-FREAKING-LUTELY! :)
