Italy packing list: We suggest the following items your trip to Italy! -Comfortable Walking shoes — absolutely must have! Expect to walk 8 hours a day if you plan on sightseeing! -Sunscreen Leave all expensive jewelry at home - petty theft is common in Italy Light jacket and light scarf, it’s cooler at night -Small umbrella, rain is common in Rome in April. If you don’t bring an umbrella, borrow one from the hotel Good to know: -Save money by staying at a hotel in the Rome city center or near our wedding events. Taxis are expensive and add up fast! Airport to city center is about 50-60 euros each time. -Bring plenty of euros out in town daily, most shops and restaurants don’t accept a credit card (and definitely not American Express). Taxis, markets, small shops, street vendors, and most restaurants require euros only. Keep euros on your hotel room and bring what you need for the day. Take one credit card, passport and ID with you daily, leave the rest at the hotel. -Use the hotel ATM, most in Rome do not work properly, will charge high fees, and may be located in an unsafe area. -Download MyTaxi app because Uber black is expensive in Rome -Expect to walk 8 hours or more each day -Day trips from Roma termini train station, if you’re staying in Italy longer -T mobile international is unlimited data and text, just add the option when you arrive in Italy -If you don’t have an international phonr or phone plan, put your phone on airplane mode to avoid fees. Use WiFi in the hotel. -Keep your passport with you all the time. Makes copies of your passport and keep it in the hotel. If you lose your passport, go to the US Embassy in Rome (locates kn Via Veneto) -Book shuttles in advance - expect an hour transit time each way. -Cross body purse is best -Sunglasses and sunscreen -Small umbrella |
