FAQs
What is the Royal Caribbean App on my phone and do I need it?
Everyone needs to download the Royal Caribbean App on their phone from their play store. It is through this app that you will need to complete your check in prior to sailing (it tells you when this opens). It is also where you will watch the safety video that must be completed and proof shown to ship cast when you get on the boat.
This app will also give you live updates on your cruise, you can purchase your drink packages (alcohol, pop, and refreshment packages), shore excursions if you choose, and make reservations if you choose to have dinner one night in one of the ships specialty restaurants (dinner in specialty restaurants do cost extra and is not included in your cruise fare)
What will the weather be like?
In March, the daily high temperature in the Bahamas is around 80-85 degrees. Night time temperatures are normally in the 60s. Because we will be on a ship it is recommended that night time and early mornings can be a little cooler so a sweater may come in handy.
What should I wear?
For our wedding ceremony we are politely asking guest to wear cocktail formal attire, cocktail or sundresses for the ladies, slacks, button up or polo shirts for the gentleman. We do not expect suit and ties but please no shorts or tank tops for the ceremony.
It is important to note that there is a dress code when eating in the main dining area of the ship. No tank tops or shorts are allowed. Dress code in the main dining area is also cocktail formal. Again this means that ladies are required to wear cocktail or sundresses and gentlemen are required to wear slacks, polos or button up shirts. Please note that all cruises have at least one formal night but participation and eating in the main dining room is not mandatory. However on our wedding day we will be haviing dinner in the main dining room and cutting our wedding cake and more pictures. We hope that everyone will accompany us on that night in the main dining room.
Is there WIFI at the venue (cruise ship)?
Wifi packages will be available to be purchased before departure or once on board the ship (but it is not free) On average the internet package is $13-$27 per device/per day. If you decide to purchase the wifi package note that you have to buy it for the entire length of our cruise so all 4 days. You can not say you only want it for 1 or 2 days for example. This price is PER DEVICE. It is completely optional and you do not have to purchase it.
Do I have to pay extra for my meals and beverages?
Not if you do not want to. Your cruise fair includes several complimentary dining options: the main dining room, WindJammer Cafe (assortment of global cuisine and american), Cafe Promenade (serves coffee, snacks, pastris, sandwiches open 24h), Sorrentos (NY pizzeria), El Loco Fresh (fresh made mexican make your own or ready made), you can even get room service (will charge delivery fee and gratuity). there is also free self serve ice cream stations. Free drinks/beverages on your cruise include tap water, milk, tea, reg or decaf coffee, lemonade, iced tea, flavored waters, juices(at breakfast but excludes fresh squeezed), hot chocolate.
The ship also offers several specialty restaurants for an additional cost. For all other beverages not listed as complementary there is a cost and these are purchased as drink packages.
How do I purchase beverage packages, specialty dining, and or excursions?
You can purchase these things now on the Royal Caribbean App. It is important to know that prices change all the time and it is cheaper to buy the packages before boarding the ship. If you purchase one of these packages and you later find a better deal you simply call the number from the app and let them know the situation and they will give you the package for the cheaper price and refund what is owed to you. Remember every guest member must download this app but you do not have to purchase anything extra!!
What type of activities are offered on the ship? I am traveling with kids, are there any requirements I need to know?
Activities range from water fun, sport activities, fitness, arcades, casino, pool side movies, theater shows, comedy shows, ice shows, laser tag, dance parties, dance lessons and more. Does Royal Caribbean ships offer daycare activities for the kids?
Yes. For children 6-36 months there is drop off babysitting at $8 per hour. For children age 3-11 there is a FREE supervised program called the Adventure Ocean Program. Children are separated into 4 different age groups 3-5 (Aquanauts children must be potty trained), 6-8 (Explorers), 9-11 (Voyagers), then there is tween/teen area.
Parents with kids in Adventure ocean receive cell phones which they can use to check on their kids or receive calls from staff if any issues occur. The evening sessions end at 10pm for Adventure Ocean Program, but there is an extra-fee Late Night Party Zone for kids (10pm-2am) which is a group babysitting arrangement that costs $7 per hour per child.
